I'm sick of hearing little miss Patrick every five minutes. She's a fairly cute little girl who can't drive a racecar well, but the Marketing ploys by the media were bigtime overkill using her. What a case of the poochlip after the race. |

Danica Patrick, an absolutely terrific driver - and tough as nuclear nails. Together with the other ladies she has made a HUGE contribution to increasing interest in Indy500, world-wide. Ryan Briscoe, today anyway, just a clumsy idiot. [500fan737] is right: Ryan Briscoe/Team Penske now owe her at least the 7th place purse amount; pay up. Viita. |

I totally agree Patrick at best is a very below average driver & the hype around this girl up to the race & while it was ongoing was fricken over the top big time, it doesn't matter anyway most of the great drivers have either went over to nascar or have retired, the Indy 500 has become one big bore it has lost it's aggressive style & with it goes the excitement it really would be no different if they all just raced against the time clock one at a time that's how uneventful it has become & it really is sad to see how one of the greatest races ever have sunk to nothing more than just another sub-par event!

Danica Patrick is a terrific driver! And if you think Indy 500 "has become one big bore" then why are you even on this website? |

Danica got no more press time or tv time than any other driver of the top tier. Of course, she is touted. She is a member of Andretti Green Racing, she is a race winner (Motegi) and she has consistently been up there in the competition in all her 500 starts. So why shouldn't she garner some attention? When Sarah Fisher (andI see she couldn't hold back the emotions as Tony Kanaan advised but she and her husband put their life into that car) and Mulka whatever actually do something, then they will get the same attetion. Sarah is just as good a driver and Mulka looks like she was selected for a runaway competition to Danica. But she can't drive for diddly squat. I was wathcing the whole time and Danica got her due as did Wheldon, Dixon and that godawful firesuit wearing Marco Andretti. I would ahve been embarrassed. It took me a while to figure out his firesuit was supposed to look like Indiana Jones' costume. then I caught the fedora at driver introductions and was embarrassed for him. Besides, who would I rather look at? Big headed Tony Kanaan or Danica Patrick? Duh... |

No doubt, she is a marketing giant and has most certainly brought badly needed attention to the IRL. I have only seen one clip of the incident in the pits and it appears we just had two cars in the wrong place at the wrong time. I had noticed that Patrick had been really battling with Briscoe on the track just prior to this incident. Poor Briscoe. What a nightmare! Having a run-in with Danica is akin to Kurt Busch crashing with Dale Jr. at Richmond. No matter who's fault, you can well bet that you are going to catch heck. I was very surprised at the suit clad IRL security dude who bravely stepped in front of her. I did not know such people existed in the IRL! Not to make any better but Danica had zero chance of winning. In fact, nobody really did against Dixon. That team is simply too strong right now. |

Miss Fisher is a much better driver and in the same car with the same team, Sarah is faster. The media has blown this DP thing way off the map. We are here to watch a race not the DP show, and besides she is not worth watching. Lou |

I want to look at someone who knows about winning. when eveyone in front of you is out of gas and you finally win a race doesn't make you a good driver it makes you lucky let's put this win where it belongs. She need to go to nascar where they are all about selling people. |

I agree with you totally. Why has everyone gone crazy over Danica? The way she sells herself makes women look cheap and weak. I would rather be known for racing then all the drama she brings to the sport. I remember Lynn St.James didn't sell herself like this. |

You (H.Tait, Michael, Hosko, tech, Lou, Mr.JohnsonII) must have missed the memo: "think before you speak" has now a companion rule "check the internet before you type". It helps in avoiding making retarded comments - so hurry up and go to [http://www.indycar.com/stats/points.php] where you'll find 37 IndyCar Series drivers and their points 6. Danica Patrick (122). So, what 'Danica has in her favor' is that she is a terrific driver; and don't worry about her miniskirt, she is not wearing it while racing! For a sport 'nobody is watching' (Mr.JohnsonII): 400,000 plus ABC plus 400 radio stations - not too shabby! Ps: 'Michael', please remove from this webpage your repeated, and empty, entries; you are entitled to your opinion, once; same applies to 'Jack Markley, My IMS User'. |

And I also take offense to the comments about someone assuming they are older and wiser. There's no "age requirement" to enjoy races; nor is there a sex or SEXIST requirement. And I prefer to be referred to as a "Humanist" (not feminist). So take your "Good Ole' Boy" comments and choke on them and when the EMTs arrive; I'll be the one waiting for you in the ER. I'm sure you are Hypertensive, controlling, highly self-stressed and make Archie Bunker seem like a bleeding heart liberal . |

Are you too daft to get it? On internet talkback-sites and alike, it is spectacularly bad manners to keep feeding in your comments several times over. Say it once, and once only; if it's worth noting, commenting on, people will do so; if not, then not. Many feedback sites are better organized as they have filters to prevent users from doing what you, and the other duplicator genius [Jack Markley, My IMS User], are doing; but this Indy site unfortunately is not idiot-proof. As for the Indy ratings - without the shadow of the doubt, they would be way less were it not for Danica Patrick, Sarah Fisher and Milka Duno - all, without being at fault, knocked out of this Indy500 by men (you know, those clumsy idiots who can't drive). In any case, I like to watch thirty-three cars lining up for the start - not just six, or not just those who have won at least once (now that would be boring!). Way too many talkback writers are obviously clueless about what the speeds (say of the last 15 qualifiers) actually mean. To each of those: Let's place you into an Indy500 car (you know, in an imaginary second seat), say of the slowest 2008 qualifier Marty Roth (averaged 218.965 mph aka 352.38 km/h); just make sure you wear DEPEND Adult Diapers (Super Plus Absorbency), because you will need them in the very first corner. If you are still conscious (ie. not yet passed out due to fright) after one lap, you will beg to be let out! |
