 Lousy Television Coverage
What lousy television coverage.
I've read about all of the technology and crane cams but couldn't sit and watch the race because "we were going side by side" every two minutes for a commercial.
Not Superbowl qualty commercials but little, half screen cpommercials that just drowned out the sound of the event.
I can't imagine "GoDaddy.com" was even happy.

Nice Job ESPN

ABC/ESPN - I hope you watched the coverage FOX provided for the CocaCola 600. That's how you do it right! Was ABC there to cover the race and buid the sport or make money for ABC's bottom line? Why go side by side durning green flag racing and then have to listen to Cheever and Goodyear bicker at each other durning the yellows? This was the worst coverage I've ever had to sit through! Tony George... Are you listening? DROP ABC! They will ruin this sport again!

That's why you need to turn the sound down and listen to the radio guys.  They are much better at calling the race.

 Commercial Overload
I didn't see very much of the race because I watched it on ABC - they had more commercials than race coverage.  To make matters worse, the extruciatingly long series of commercials with only about 36 laps to go didn't have side-by-side!  They have to find another network to broadcast the 500.

The Indianapolis 500 was very good, but the ABC network coverage was terrible.  Too many commercial  showing the same commercials over and over again. I undersatnd that the sponsers use the Indy 500 as a forum to reach the public, but come on...enough is enough.  The Side-By-Side coverage of a split screen of the race and commercials just doesn't do it.  It takes too much away from the Greatest Specticle In racing.  Too bad I had to learn about some of the details of the race on the evening news. Nice try ABC.....Next year I'm taking my wife to the Indy 500 so we won't have to be subjected to your advertising blitz. Cheever and Goodyear were excellant, but the other guy is a BUM!  He can't call a race if he was driving himself.  Too many mistakes.  He even didn't know the names of a few drivers.  Again, Nice Try ABC..
