In as much as the race is always glorious, the events leading up to the race make it special. I was last up in 2004 and back this year and was very disappointed by the last of vendors and exhibits up in front of the museum and on the side. I was very annoyed by Cheverolet blocking off the entire front section of cars for their "special event". I felt as if they were rubbing their nose and their guest in front of everyone cramming all the traffic into a few feet in order to pass through to the other side. This was very poor design by Indy and Chevrolet. I was also very dissappointed by the lack of events and vendors in that area. When I was there in 2004, there were quite a few different interactive events or adults and children, a variety of food vendors and the entire event fair was much more fun. Having brought three friends with me, this was short-lived and a dissappointment. |
