Panoramic photos in the museum
Message:
If you look on the east wall of the museum at IMS there are photos from quite a few of the years that were taken before the green flag. I'm not exactly sure who was in these but many of the crewmen and drivers were included. They did a panoramic photo by slowly swinging the camera from left to right because that was the only way they could get the entire group in one photo.
In the 1953 and 1956 photos you will see a man that appears on both sides of those photos. He would be on the leftmost part of the photo and as soon as the camera had swung far enough he would run as fast as he could to the other side and be in place by the time the camera got there. I suppose he ran behind everyone so it wouldn't mess up the picture. That is my uncle, Tony Kennington, who crewed on winning cars at Indy and was also a riding mechanic.
So, if you happen to think of it when in the museum, check out Uncle Tony!!!
