McDonald's has become the Official Quick Service Restaurant of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Indianapolis 500 and Allstate 400 at the Brickyard.
As part of the partnership, McDonald's will sponsor the popular pit stop contest during the 92nd Indianapolis 500. The McDonald's Pit Stop Challenge takes place Friday, May 23 at IMS, two days before "The Greatest Spectacle in Racing."
"This partnership between McDonald's and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is a natural fit," said Joie Chitwood, IMS president and chief operating officer. "Both are worldwide leaders in their businesses, both are global icons, and McDonald's has a strong history of supporting racing."
The partnership with IMS extends McDonald's commitment to motorsports. McDonald's has sponsored an entry fielded by championship-winning open-wheel racing team Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing, which joined the IndyCar Series this season. Justin Wilson is driving the No. 02 McDonald's Racing Team car this May at Indianapolis.
The 92nd Indianapolis 500 is scheduled for Sunday, May 25, while the 15th Allstate 400 at the Brickyard is scheduled for Sunday, July 27.
