    spectacular racing IRL

Great racing, gonna miss the speed @ MIS, just like Fontana. But the Andretti's always put on a great race, remember Michael airborne and end over end @ L- Seca, in the K-Mart #6. These Guys can fly!

They were very lucky to escape injury!!!

I was glad to see everyone ok after that wreck. I think the racing was safer when they ran 230 at these tracks but the feild was spread out. 18 cars running wheel to wheel is going to kill someone. Their short oval package is great but the cars need more power and less wing on the big tracks.

Never mind what was any driver thinking- what are MIS and IRL thinking?

Been going to races at MIS past 6 years. IRL is by far the best show for this track unless someone goes back to the CART days with the wickerbills and massive drafting. Instead of promoting as they should, they simply let this one go off and die like a neglected animal. You know- those players who run teams in both Nascar and IRL really ought to be the folks held out as those who put their own interests ahead of any investment needed to keep this a class race. No one worries about selling too many or too few tickets to a road course. It is a shame to give up on Michigan where the racing is as competitive as it gets.

    Wow What was Weldon thinking?

At the time of the accident I was shocked, scared Dario was dead watch the accident on the screen.
Then after watching several replays of the last few days, I find nothing that shows me Dario had anything to do with this accident. It is clearly Weldon moving into Dario.

I think Weldon should be fined and sidelined for the reminder of the season...or better yet could he just move to a different serious.

On another note; while I like Danica Patraick, she seems to be in a bit of a "why me" rut that is getting a bit old.

    Who had the best view?

The answer to that is Danica. She was right behind them following orders from Kim Green to help Dario get by Dan. Nobody at the race track had a better view.

They should have included her observations in the video.

    racing incident

wow! What a race! It's a close one and nobody's to blame. This is what close open wheel racing about. Sorry to say, Formula 1 ...lost it . Formula 1...too political and Lewis is one overhyped kid.

    As a cousin of Dario...

I couldn't be more relieved knowing he walked away. Let me point out though - that Dario did make the comment in THIS video interview that he and Dan moved into each other, though this was a vague statement he made, without reviewing any footage. I do not want to blame Dan for this, but then again cannot find reason to why he would move upwards on the race track instead of hugging the inside line to gain more speed around the turn. Clearly Dario was moving around Dan on the outside, but Dan had no reason AT ALL to move into Dario. Dario would have been curving inwards around the track to scale the outside around Dan as it is, so blame cannot be put on Dario's shoulders.

In a later interview with Dario, he made the comment that he knows now that Wheldon made the mistake, and that he will talk to him about it. We can throw the idea that Dario would rather just blame it on Wheldon out the window knowing he tried to find an alternative definition of the incident in this iterview above, but now we should really ask why Dan would move upwards, and only mention to Dario that they both made the mistake? (without EVER commenting about his maneuver in which started the incident) - I'm just upset Dan almost ended my dear cousin's life and didn't ever realize he should be the one grateful for Dario's survival.

    Most recent interview with Dario:

    Did you watch the race?

This is in referance to softballs comments about Danica. Did you watch the race? Did you see that she was losing a pound of air a lap? Give her time. She will get her win. Her car is to fast and to strong not to. But when something happens that is beyond her control, well, what is she supposed to do? I think that you need to pay closer attention to the races that are on the TV.
